Here’s a little history on Rungis…

Historically known as Les Halles de Paris, this International Market has been based in Rungis, a town located near the A6 motorway and Orly airport, since 1969. Every night, products arrive in Rungis by truck, train, or plane and are delivered to market stalls . The Rungis Market is a wholesale market and is only reserved for professionals.

🏢The Rungis Market covers roughly 234 hectares and is home to around 1,200 businesses and 13,000 employees. In 2022 alone, 3 million tonnes of goods, including 1,781,308 food products, went through Rungis (a revenue of 10 billion euros) with the fruit and vegetable sector accounting for the lion’s share.

🍊🥦The Fruits and Vegetables sector takes up 9 pavilions in the market’s centre with a broad variety of products ranging from seasonal to exotic fruits and vegetables, including mini-vegetables and delicious flowers. Here’s also where Nico & Robin find hidden gems and the first of the season products!
